What this covers

Tattoo artwork, flash designs, photographs of finished tattoos and studio branding belong to the people who made them. STNCL requires that portfolio images show work the artist personally tattooed, and that flash designs are the artist's own original artwork.

Use this process if you believe someone on STNCL has posted your artwork or photographs, copied your flash design, or is presenting themselves as you, your studio, or an artist they are not.

How to report it in the app

Open the profile, portfolio image, design, guest spot or announcement in question and use Report. Choose the reason that fits: “Copyright infringement (my artwork was copied)”, “Stolen portfolio / artwork”, “Portfolio is not this artist’s work”, or “Impersonating an artist, studio or person”.

The report captures a snapshot of the content as it appeared, so a moderator can review it even if the content is later edited or deleted. Copyright and impersonation reports are treated as high priority and are given an internal response target of 12 hours.

You do not need an account to reach us: you can also email help@getstncl.com with links to the STNCL content, proof of your own earlier work (for example your original file, your own posting, or a dated photograph), your name and a way to contact you, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use was not authorised.

What we do about it

A moderator reviews the report and the evidence. Where a claim is substantiated we can remove the image, design, guest spot or announcement, withdraw verification badges, restrict what the account can post, suspend it, or ban it. Repeated infringement leads to removal from the platform.

Two or more separate people reporting the same portfolio image as not the artist’s own work flags it for authenticity review by a person. An automated signal never decides on its own and never penalises an account by itself.

The artist whose content is removed is told what happened and can respond to us by email; we will reconsider where the evidence supports it.

Protecting your own work

Portfolio and flash artwork are served through short-lived private links, and the app discourages direct downloading. We cannot prevent someone taking a screenshot, and we do not claim to. Watermarking your work and keeping your original files dated remains the strongest evidence you can hold.
